Northern Lights
Another week passes and whilst there are no big
changes in the Oslo birdlife I have noted three new spring migrants: Stock
Dove, Oystercatcher and Skylark but snow and ice still cover the landscape so
conditions are not yet very inviting even for these traditionally early
migrants.
The Taiga Bean Geese have remained and a visit on Tuesday
revealed the flock was unchanged with no new additions except for a single Canada
Goose.
My scarce and sensitive species has turned up again
so I will wait before writing about it.
Otherwise the heavens have provided most of the
excitement; the moon nicely framed a Pygmy Owl, the Northern Lights danced over
Oslo and Jupiter and Venus brushed against each other.
