Back home

Back to the grey wet weather in Oslo I failed in a short visit to Frognerparken to find the Iceland Gull which was discovered yesterday. The presence of bling shows this to be the same bird that was at the same site from Feb to May last year. It has only been sighted once since then in Denmark at the beginning of November. There are therefore lots of gaps in the life history of this bird that need to be filled in but it will be fascinating if it keeps returning to Oslo on its northward spring migration such that we can observe hows its plumage changes.

Here is a poor picture of Hawkie from the ski slopes.
