Just time for a quick trip around Maridalen this morning. A Wryneck came out of the nest hole but otherwise they were very unobtrusive with no calling - it seems that as soon as the male finds a mate they get down to nesting straightaway when they become difficult to discover.
On the lake the lighting was good and I was able to grill the small group of gulls in the middle of the lake and could confirm the presence of the Med Gull - it is most likely present everyday.
I thoroughly checked out a couple of sites for Great Snipe without luck but did have two Common Snipe with one displaying over snipe marsh for a long time.
Over Oslo today good numbers of Swifts and House Martins feeding in overcast damp conditions.
