Spring suddenly felt a long way
off when it started sleeting at Fornebu today but later on an overflying
Greylag Goose (grågås) was a very definite sign of spring migration. At Fornebu
the Bearded Tits continue to thwart my efforts to discover how many there are
by remaining further out in the reedbed and staying low down. From the calls
though I am quite sure there are two different groups out there. The Great Grey
Shrike was still present and this time allowed me to stealthily approach and
take this picture through a bush.
Today’s only “Bird Alarm” was
from Eirik Grønningsæter who stayed the night in Fredrikstad and found the
Caspian at the Great Big Dump at 1230. That means he used over 12 hours in the
field for a year tick – I just hope that the others come more easily!
