A family walk around Fornebu revealed a few signs of spring.
The first flower of the year, a hestehov
was in bloom, a wood ant colony had woken with thousands of ants moving around
sluggishly, a caterpillar was walking over the snow and on the bird front 3
Stock Doves were my first of the year.
On Friday I paid a visit to the woodland at Dælivannet and
had my first Hawfinches of the year with at least birds including a group of 6
that were involved in display and song. A very vocal Black Woodpecker showed
well and an adult male Goshawk flew over me on three occasions.
