A great raptor day today with many thousands of birds passing over of which 99% were Steppe Buzzards, then Black Kite, Booted Eagle, Steppe Eagle and a single Lesser Spotted Eagle. The birds came through in groups of many hundreds but over a very broad front which made viewing challenging. Some flew over the Gulf of Aqaba whereas others were many kilometres over the mountains to the west.
The undoubted highlight of the day was putting our ID skills to the test with all three ringtail harriers (Hen, Montagu's and Pallid) over a single field at Yotvata.
Best passerine was a male Collared Flycatcher.
