I have done precious little birding recently although a quick trip to Maridalen yesterday revealed a pair of Barnacle Geese with half grown young. As this pair represented my first sighting of this species in Maridalen earlier in the spring it is not surprising that this represents the first Maridalen brreding record of this fast expanding feral (in these parts) species.
Thunderstorms forecast over the next couple of days should tempt me out to look for grounded waders but with little in the way of new material to upload here are some additional pictures of the Hawk Owls from the spring.
