I chose Fornebu again today with the vague hope of
unearthing a Pallas’s Warbler (fuglekongesanger). That predictably was just
wishful thinking and a single Chiffchaff was the only warbler remaining. In
what was a very quiet morning I only noted 7 Meadow Pipits, 1 Skylark and 3
Lapwings alongside small numbers of finches and thrushes. Definitely nothing
rare of scarce although Water Rails were making themselves known and even had one bird calling in flight over the
reedbed which I have never noted before and was I assume due to it having been
scared up but something.
