Barking

Looks like I’ve been making noises up the wrong tree. Although I haven’t heard directly from the observer of the Moorhen/APG – he was most likely too offended by my suggestion he can’t ID a Moorhen ;-) – he has sent a short but succinct message to a mutual friend that “it’s a Moorhen” although in Spanish of course ;-).

Based on that one photo I still can’t get it to look like a Moorhen but there’s nothing more to be done about that although I would love to see another photo from a different angle. So my excitement was short lived but it has at least taught me that Moorhens can look far more exciting in pictures where you can’t see the whole bird properly. Maybe a lesson there for other people too..........
