Hawk Owl still performing

I was struck down by a stomach bug today but it didn’t stop me taking the family (including my parents visiting from England) up to Maridalen to look for the owl. We didn’t see it on our way into the valley but on our return Rita saw it up on the wires right by the road. We were all able to enjoy great views as it sat there completely unperturbed by our presence. Passing rollerskiers stopped to admire it and the local bus stopped so the driver could see what we were staring at!
Other birds that showed for us were Black Woodpecker (svartspett), Nutrcracker (nøttekråke), Crested Tit (toppmeis) and Goshawk (hønsehauk) – not exactly run of the mill birds for people from Sussex!
